Pentaerythrityl Rosinate, Lanolin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool, TBHQ.

Smooth, hair-free skin is as simple as 1, 2, 3, 4

step1

Ensure your skin is clean and dry. Warm up the wax strip by rubbing it between your hands for 20 – 30 seconds.

step2

Slowly separate the two strips and place one strip aside for later use.

step3

Apply the strip to the skin. Using your palm, rub the strip firmly several times with a smoothing action, in the direction of hair growth.

step4

Hold the skin taut with one hand and grip the bottom of the wax strip with the other. Staying close and parallel to the skin, pull back the strip quickly and decisively in the opposite direction of hair growth. Apply firm pressure onto the waxed area with your palm to relieve any discomfort. Each strip can be re-used several times until it's no longer sticky.

top-tip

If there's any stickiness or wax residue that remains, just use a little moisturiser or baby oil to remove it

PRECAUTIONS

  • Do not use if diabetic
  • Use on skin treated with prescription medication that could affect the skin structure
  • Do not use toner, astringents or facial products containing fragrance or alcohol before or immediately after waxing
  • Do not wax over acne, cuts, sunburnt skin, moles, varicose veins, warts, eczema, open wounds or any other skin ailments.
  • Do not wax repeatedly over the same area as this may cause bruising.
  • Do not scratch or rub the skin after waxing.
  • Do not expose waxed area to harsh sunlight or hot water before or after waxing. We recommend waiting 8 hours before suntanning.
  • Do not apply the wax to any area around the eyes or inside the nose.

I’ve heard waxing can be sore or uncomfortable which makes me apprehensive. Is this true?

Waxing removes the hair from the root, so yes, there’s a level of sensation as nerves surround that hair root. But everyone is different and the experience varies from person to person. Avoid waxing a few days before or after your period, as your skin is more sensitive at this time. The muscles around the hair contract when it is cold, so wax in a warm room where those muscles are relaxed and comfortable which will minimise any discomfort. If you can pull a plaster off your skin, you’ll be just fine with waxing!

How warm do the strips need to be to work effectively?

In normal conditions, rubbing the strips between your hands for 20 – 30 seconds should warm them adequately. In a particularly cold snap, you may need to warm them a little longer. When adequately warm, the wax strips will separate easily without any “cracking” sound.

How should I prepare my skin before waxing?

Waxing works best on clean, dry skin that is free of moisture, sweat or natural body oils. We don’t suggestion moisturising the skin before a wax. If you’re in a humid environment, apply a light layer of talc to the skin before waxing to absorb any excess moisture.

How do I know which size wax strip to use?

Mandy’s strips are pre-cut to suit hair removal from different body parts – larger strips for leg areas, medium sized strips for bikini and underarms and small strips for the face. Alternately, you can purchase large wax strips and cut them to size to your preference.

How do I know which type of wax strip to use?

Mandy’s produce two types of wax strips. Our Original strips have a transparent crystal strip with traditional wax which is very effective on thicker, coarser, denser hair. Our Soft-Feel wax strips have a fabric like strip and a gel wax formulation – these are better suited to finer, sparser hair.

I didn’t find the product effective – what went wrong?

The strips must be warm enough to grip on to the hairs, but if overheated, they will adhere to skin rather than hair, and not be as effective. The skin should be clean, dry and in good condition – if it is too dry and scaly, or sticky and greasy, the strips won’t remove the hair successfully. The strips can be reused several times, depending on the density of hair – once they lose their “stickiness” or “tackiness”, they will no longer be effective.

My skin looks red and irritated after waxing, is this normal?

A little redness is perfectly normal and should subside after a few hours. Be sure than when waxing, you remove the strip close to the skin – “along” the length of the skin, rather than “up” away from the skin. Also remember to hold the skin taut in the removal process, this will reduce irritation, sensitivity and the chance of any bruising.

There’s a slight stickiness or residue after I’ve used the wax – how can I get rid of this?

The easiest way to remove the residue is by using a little of your everyday body lotion or baby oil.

Is this product vegan and cruelty-free?

All Mandy’s products are cruelty-free but this product contains some lanolin, so cannot be classified as vegan.
